Welcome to our Green Room Conversations, spotlighting events, ideas, and personalities that have shaped Westport Community Theatre on stage and behind the scenes.
Talking With Davina Porter
Davina Porter and Sam Mink met in the early days of WCT, in a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In the decades that followed, they have both been instrumental in sustaining the theatre as a local institution.
Davina built an outstanding career as a stage actor, a member of Actors Equity, and an award-winning narrator of the Outlander audiobook series by Diana Gabaldon; she was recently inducted by Audible Books into the Narrator Hall of Fame as one of the “voices that transform stories”: “Porter has developed a special relationship with the listener, making every audiobook she performs a transporting experience.” She is named one of Audiophile Magazine’s “50 Best Voices of the Last Century”.
Her most recent Gabaldon audiobook is Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone .
Sam Mink continues to find artistic expression on our stage, most recently as President Warren G. Harding in a production of Camping with Henry and Tom. He has also given invaluable administrative service as President of WCT, managing WCT through difficult times, besides pitching in to move equipment and paint sets.
In three conversations, recorded in January and March, 2021, Davina and Sam share an entertaining, nostalgic turn through their WCT years, illuminating the theatre’s place in the Westport community.

Now Jeff is BACK and he has many entertaining stories to tell of his life and art since answering an ad for volunteers at Westport Community Theatre in the 1970s.
